I was really looking forward to this book but found it a bit rushed as if the authors first book had been so well recieved and the editors told him he needed another one as soon as possible. It was jumbled started in with a character from the old book that had been almost a throw away. I am hoping the final in the trilogy will make up for the second book. As with most trilogoes in movies and books, the middle one is ususally written just to advance the story to the end. I will read the third and continue to hope it is as good as the first.Product details

Great book! I would recommend it to all my friends. I love the whole story. If you like gay romance this is a must read.
Stuart Wakefield is a groundbreaking author. Although he works in LGBT, his fiction opens up to every reader the timeless appeal of great mythology and fast-paced storytelling.
Wakefield has built a cult following around his carefully-researched trilogy of the Orkney Island myths--Selkies, Fin-men, Trows, the Nuckalavee, the Stoor Worm, the Stronsay Beast, the Sea Mither, the Odin Stone.
At the end of Body of Water, the first novel of Wakefield's Orcadian Trilogy, the protagonist Leven's first love Shaun has already been lost to him back in London, while Leven pursued his destiny to the Orkney Islands and met there the love of his life the dark stranger Dom. I was initially drawn into Stuart Wakefield's writing by a free short story he published called The Elements of Love which, while short, demonstrated that unlike so many LGBT fiction stories you may come across, this guy can really is a fantastic writer with a unique take on paranormal LGBT fiction. I know you all need it and it's available on his website, [...] I jumped into the first novel, Body of Water almost immediately after discovering that short story, and the rest is history. I am now completely hooked.
With this new work, Memory of Water, the story continues from a different perspective. Written in the same amazing style, the plot just continues to grow, with interest never leaving. At no point does this novel disappoint. Even after having finished this book, I yearn for even more. Luckily, we are promised another work in this amazing series.
So, if you're a fan of fantastically well-written, gripping paranormal fiction, this book, and it's predecessor, Body of Water should be at the top of your list. I highly recommend it.
